Product Description

Koch Chemie Fine Cut F6.01 is a professional-grade polishing compound formulated with advanced aluminum oxide abrasives that deliver a fine to medium cut level (6.0) with an excellent finishing gloss (7.0). It efficiently removes swirl marks, wash scratches, light to moderate paint defects, and sanding marks up to P2500 grit, then finishes out to a deep, clean gloss that minimizes the amount of follow-up finishing work needed.

Particularly well-suited for scratch-resistant clear coats found on modern European and Asian vehicles where harder paint systems require a more capable abrasive to achieve proper correction. Performs consistently on both dual-action and rotary polishers across a range of pad combinations.

If you are looking for a professional fine cut compound for paint correction, a machine polish for removing swirl marks and sanding marks from clear coat, or the best Koch Chemie polishing compound for scratch-resistant paint systems, F6.01 Fine Cut is a benchmark product used in professional detailing shops worldwide. Available in 250ml, 1L, and 5L.

Koch Chemie F6.01 Usage & Pad Pairing

Fine Cut F6.01 is Koch Chemie's medium polish — step 2 of the 3-step system, or a standalone one-step on softer clears with light-to-medium defects.

  • Recommended pad: Koch Chemie Micro Cut Pad (as step 2 of 3) or a medium foam pad as a 1-step
  • Application: 4-6 pea-sized drops. Prime new pads.
  • Machine: DA or rotary. F6.01 works at moderate speeds.
  • Work area: 2'×2' panels. 4-5 passes, light-to-medium pressure.

Use cases: Step 2 following H9.02. Or as a single-step on softer paint (Japanese, newer soft clears) where the defects are light-to-medium. Finish with M3.02 for maximum gloss on dark colors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Koch Chemie F6.01 as a one-step?

Yes — F6.01 works very well as a standalone one-step on softer Japanese clears and newer soft paint with light-to-medium defects. On harder German or European paint with deeper defects, use H9.02 first.

What pad goes with Koch Chemie Fine Cut F6.01?

For step 2 of the 3-step system, use the Koch Chemie Micro Cut Pad. For one-step use, pair with a medium foam pad. Microfiber pads also work but will give slightly more cut than the foam Micro Cut Pad.

Koch Chemie F6.01 vs P6.01 — which is which?

F6.01 is part of the 3-step cutting compound system (H9.02 → F6.01 → M3.02) — it's step 2, a medium-cut polish. P6.01 is a one-step cut-and-finish product designed for dealer-quick corrections. F6.01 for multi-step shop work; P6.01 when time is tight.

Directions
  1. Apply the fine polishing compound to the polishing pad (Fine Cut Pad or lambswool pad)
  2. Polish the precleaned surface with max. 2.000 rpm crosswise. The cleaning effect can be varied by means of pressure, polishing medium and rpm.
  3. At the start of the polishing process we recommend working with greater pressure at a lower speed.
  4. In the further course, reduce the pressure and polish to a high gloss at a higher speed.
  5. The remaining polish residues can be removed easily with our Profi ultrasonic cut microfibre cloth.
  6. Remove any streaks or traces of polish with Micro Cut M3.02.
